(KSL News) A Lehi man found guilty of cheating on his income tax returns will spend one year in jail.

Scott. S. Beal, owner of Scott Beal Excavation, was ordered to serve 360 days behind bars and pay almost $44,000 in back taxes for filing bogus returns and failing to file other returns.

Records show Beal did not file income tax returns from 1996 and 2000.

His company earned more than 500-thousand dollars during that time.
