Corn vendor shot and robbed in North Ogden; shooter at large

NORTH OGDEN — A man selling corn at a roadside stand was robbed and shot Saturday morning, and the man who shot him is still at large.

Sgt. Clark Crowther with the North Ogden Police said that around 11:42 a.m. the 30-year-old victim was selling corn at approximately 1958 N. 400 East. A Hispanic male approached the vendor and demanded money. He then shot the vendor and fled the scene on foot toward the east.

The man was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound and later taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Crowther did not know the victim's condition.

The shooter is described as Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, between 5 foot 6 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall, 190 pounds and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the shooter. The man is still at large and the shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call North Ogden police at 801-629-8221.
