Mrac Giauque ReportingWendy martin walked me through the of the firm "Tanner LC", where offices and cubicles are stacked with paperwork and most of the people we walk past are on the phone. Jeff Bickell was not.

Jeff Bickell: "I haven't been home before about 2:00 am for the last four nights, so you can imagine what it's like."

Four nights wrapping up four months known as the busy season for CPAs.

Martin, the firm's CFO, says some like to come in at say 4:00 am, so they can have some time at night. Others are night owls. But now, the all nighters are over.

Wendy Frost: "I'm waiting for the clock to hit midnight."

It's likely the others are looking for some downtime, but at least in this firm, don't expect accountants gone wild.

'Oh, I'll be asleep (laugh), I'm going to get some sleep and do some yard work. I'm looking forward to actually working in my garden. I've got a fence along the side of my house that normally I wouldn't be excited about painting, but I can hardly wait."

Regardless of what they're doing, there's a good chance many will not be in the office tomorrow. Quite often the day after the filing deadline, people will take the day off just to kind of get their heads together.

Martin says many accountants do plan trips or get away. She says her firm used to have a big party the day after. Now, though, they have it in May. Apparently working long hours in an office, even with friends, can be a bit taxing.

"But I can understand why we don't have big parties the day after the busy season. Everybody is pretty sick of each other by then. I think we're all a litte bit tired. We've all been working together for a long, long time. We work well, we think the world of each other, but we just need a little bit of space."
