(KSL News) Local youth groups headed to the county landfill today to rip open bags of leaves.
The Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Facility invited hundreds of kids to de-bag the thousands of bags of yard and park leaves collected from the entire county.
The plastic yard bags have to be removed before the leaves can be recycled into mulch. The mulch will be sold to the public.
