OREM — A man accused of taking pictures up a woman's skirt at Orem's Best Buy store is now under arrest after an acquaintance tipped off police.

Scott Halliday, 30, is charged with misdemeanor voyeurism for allegedly taking a cellphone photo up a 19-year-old woman's skirt as she shopped at Best Buy on July 17.

Sgt. Craig Martinez says the woman never got a good look at the man, "but a few weeks later we were able to get a video surveillance from Best Buy, and so we had at least a picture and video of who the suspect was."

Martinez says the big break came when media outlets broadcast those surveillance photos.

"Fortunately for us, we got an anonymous viewer who saw the story on the news and called our detective and gave him a good solid tip. Halliday ended up being our suspect," he said.

Police caught up with Halliday at his home in Salem and arrested him. His bail is set at $1,800.

He is also charged with sexual battery in a Springville incident.
