(KSL News) A federal grand jury has indicted a Utah criminal who led police on a nationwide manhunt.
Robert Douglas Preece was charged today in connection with robberies at several businesses, including a Phillips 66, a Check-n-Go, a Quiznos and a bank, twice.
Portland police found Preece last week sleeping in a car. He'd been on the run since September when he was released from jail because the Salt Lake County District Attorney's office didn't file paperwork on time.
Most of the crimes took place from August to September, but one of the bank robberies happened in October while Preece was on the run.
Preece faces seven to 25 years in prison for each of the charges.
