(KSL News) A woman and her daughter were almost kidnapped Thursday night, and now police need your help finding the suspect.

According to police, a man was sitting inside a parked car around 300 North and 800 West. The man began asking the 7-year-old girl questions. She then ran into the home and told her mom.

The mom went outside to confront the man, and that's when he grabbed her and tried to force her into the car. The woman escaped, and the man took off.

The man is about 35 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark jeans, a Raiders cap and a black and blue jacket.

He was driving a white Pontiac Grand Am with Utah plates 800 UVE. Anyone with information is asked to call the Salt Lake City police.
