LEHI — The city's annual Foam Day event will take place on Saturday, July 21 at the Lehi Sports Park, 700 South 2000 West.
The event begins at 11 a.m. with water blow-up toys, shopping, entertainment and more. Free watermelon will be served by Macey's in the afternoon and the featured “foam” spraying will take place from 2-4 p.m. It is encouraged that guests bring goggles to protect their eyes.
This free event is held in celebration of Pioneer Day and takes place on the Saturday before July 24. City Councilman Johnny Revill was inspired to start this event when he attended a similar one in Idaho.
Recently, the National Geographic featured the event in their "Visions of Earth" pictorial this month. The photo and caption can be found at ngm.nationalgeographic.com/visions-of- earth/visions-earth-2012 amongst other photos from around the world.
Punk in the Park Concert for a good cause
The Punk in the Park fundraising concert will take place at the Ogden Amphitheater on Friday June 20 from 5 p.m. until 10. The show will showcase talents from Utah and some from Colorado and California. This concert was organized in the attempt to support a long time Ogden entrepreneur Earnest McKown, and the Paris Cafe that he sadly had to shut down in March due to the failing economy.
Kelsie Socwell contacted KSL in hopes of saving the cafe that she claims has done a lot of good for the community. "The Paris Cafe was a place where kids could come together in a safe and fun environment, keeping them off the streets and possibly out of trouble." Socwell said.
Admission cost $10 with no age restrictions. Other neighboring businesses will be there as vendors.

The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum will also be open as a part of the walking tour.
Dancing for Transplants
Chelsea Weidmann wanted to assist her cousin Chad Freckleton with the financial struggles he underwent after a transplant surgery. Naturally, a dance performance fundraiser is the first thing she thought of, and this year she's at it again.
Weidmann is trying to help another transplant recipient with another performance. Jeffery Lewis received a kidney transplant in April, but suffered complications due to a long commute for the organ, which slowed his recovery. This year's performances will take place on July 26-28 and will benefit the National Foundation for Transplants (NFT).
"It's really amazing that Chelsea is willing to take on such a big event yet again to help transplant patients like Jeffery and her cousin Chad," said Kay Horne, NFT fundraising consultant. "We're honored that she's raising awareness for NFT, as well as the vital need for organ donors across the country."
Performances will begin at 7 p.m. each night at Classical Ballet Academy located at 875 S. 170 E. in Provo. Tickets are $5 each night.
