Some 450 Laurels and Priests in Cumming, Georgia anticipate the Mormon prom every year. They get to be with their friends in a wholesome environment.
Local stake presidents say LDS standards and values are not really compatible with what the kids find at school, so this gives the youth a chance to socialize and invite their non-member friends.
The Mormon Prom is over by 10:30, everyone has to be 16 or older and follow "For the Strength of Youth" dress and behavior standards.
