Andrew Adams, KSL Newsradio There are a couple things you don't want to do while drunk: number one is driving, number two is running from police.
Police say a man was driving along 3200 West and veered into a parked car. He then took off and started hopping fences. "He jumped into a van yard, climbed over a fence there, which had razor wire on top, and cut himself pretty good," explained West Valley Police Lt. Dalan Taylor.
Still, he wasn't quite ready to surrender when he made it back to the main road. "He'd slowed down to walking. He wasn't running anymore, so it made it a little easier for us to catch him," Taylor said.
Taylor says the suspect had to go to the hospital.
Possible charges of DUI, negligent collision, and leaving the scene of an accident are his get-well card from police.
