(KSL News) Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch donated thousands of dollars to a fellow Republican lawmaker being investigated for his ties to a jailed lobbyist.
California Rep. John Doolittle is currently the subject of a grand jury probe looking into his dealings with Jack Abramoff. Abramoff is currently serving time for fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy to bribe public officials.
Hatch has admitted to giving $10,000 to Doolittle's legal defense fund. A spokesman for the senator says the two are "loyal friends."
