Mary Richards, KSL NewsradioThere's a new bill in the works that would put the brakes on any newly formed school districts. Senator Chris Buttars says he wants school funding issues resolved first.

Some residents are afraid their taxes will go up to pay for school construction if the Jordan district splits.

Sen. Buttars wants to find a way to spread out those costs across the state, and he says school splits should not go forward until that's resolved.
