Randall Jeppesen, KSL NewsradioLindon City has taken the first step in creating its new police force. It named its new police chief, who happens to work for the department it's breaking away from.
Police Capt. Cody Cullimore has a lot to do as he gets ready to clean out his Pleasant Grove office. He is moving one city over as Lindon's new police chief.
There was tension between city leaders as Lindon decided to break away from Pleasant Grove in police coverage.
Now Pleasant Grove is going to have to cut down its police force. Cullimore is hoping to help bridge the gap. He says, "Some of those people from here (Pleasant Grove) may apply. I obviously don't want to clean out this department. I wouldn't do that."
Lindon's new police force officially will take to the streets next July.
