SALT LAKE CITY — Most people have seen and read about the drama in Orlando involving Magic center Dwight Howard and head coach Stan Van Gundy. It all played out in front of the media Thursday when Van Gundy confirmed reports that Howard wants him fired.
The topic came up Friday when the Jazz met with the media after shoot around for their game against the Golden State Warriors.
"I play for the Utah Jazz man. I don't want none of those problems," Al Jefferson said. "I've seen it. I thought it was crazy."
Jefferson went on to say that would never happen here in Utah.
"Everybody here is very professional," he said. "I ain't takin' no sides. I don't know who said what. Seems like there is a lot of messy stuff going on over there. It's a shame because I think Van Gundy did a great job with that team and Dwight is a great player, you know, so it would be great if they could get on the same page."
Jazz head coach Ty Corbin calls the situation "unfortunate" and hates to see it play out in the media.
"For it to be out in the open with player/coaches is an unfortunate situation," Corbin said. "I don't think anyone will win in that."
Corbin just hopes he never has to go through a similar situation.
"I feel for the guys going through it right now."
