(KSL News) The development of an old gravel pit in Sandy has been contentious for years, but this evening Sandy City officially celebrated the opening of Quarry Bend Park with a family-style event at the baseball diamonds.
It's the final phase of the mixed-use development that includes retail shops with anchors Wal-Mart and Lowes.
The development also has hundreds of high-density condos and office space.
