OGDEN — A Weber High School administrator was fired last week over allegations of impropriety.

According to the Nate Taggart, spokesman for the Weber School District, the allegations against Vice Prinicpal Jim Bell surfaced in early March. The 15-year district veteran was placed on administrative leave on March 8 and was handed a letter of termination on March 21.

Taggart declined to comment further on the nature of the allegations, but Weber School District notified North Ogden Police about them.

An inquiry by KSL News Tuesday specifically about Bell prompted a statement from the police department. It did not name Bell but revealed "an unspecified allegation involving a female juvenile" relative and a North Ogden resident surfaced on March 7.

The statement said the "alleged offense" took place in North Ogden. But because of information received, the Pocatello Police Department in Idaho is taking over the lead in the investigation.

The statement also said North Ogden police are not able to discuss the case with either the "victim or alleged suspect to confirm what, if any, offenses occurred" within the city's jurisdiction.

When asked about Bell, Pocatello Police Department spokesperson Diane Brush said she could not comment yet because it was too early in the investigation.

Taggart said Bell is still within an allotted time frame to appeal his firing.

Attempts to locate Bell for comment Tuesday were unsuccessful.
