(KSL News) Deeanne Barney has served children in the community for more than 35 years as a preschool and kindergarten teacher.
Co-workers say she runs circles around them and defines the phrase "young at heart." Today is Deeanne's 70th birthday.
Her energy and excitement are just a few of the reasons she was nominated for a High 5.
Co-worker Janie Berry sent us an e-mail that reads in part, "Deanne Barney has devoted her life to the success of children, especially those who need extra help; she is truly for the underdog and does everything she can to help build self-esteem. She has worked many miracles and we fondly refer to her as the 'Annie Sullivan of preschools.'"

Nearly 20 of Deeanne's 35 teaching years were spent operating the Children's Discovery School in Holladay, where her students call her "Miss Dee." Some of her students helped our Brooke Walker surprise her this morning. They even sang Happy Birthday to her.
Deeanne said, "This is my gift, to be able to work with these [children]."
