RIVERDALE -- Utahns are feeling pressure at the pump. But as that pressure builds, it may lead to higher prices for other everyday items as well.
Most grocers try to eat that cost as long as they can, before having to pass it on to the customer. But those ripple effects could become visible within a matter of weeks if gas prices don't fall.
In the meantime, cheaper gas stations like Sam's Club in Riverdale are keeping very busy as people try to search out the lowest prices.
"I want to be able to save money, at least a little bit on anything I can," said Ignacio Valdez.
Customers like Valdez keep rolling in as they try to save anywhere from ten to twenty cents a gallon.
Some of the customers use sites like utahgasprices.com to find the lowest prices nearby, like the relatively cheap $3.29 per gallon at Sam's Club.
"It's a necessary evil," said Brett Stephenson. "Gas is like food: you pay what you gotta pay because your only alternative is not driving."

The site also lists some of the highest prices, including one gas station in Beaver reporting 3.99 a gallon.
At Jimmy's Flower shop in Layton, They're already feeling the big pinch in their budget as they experience one of the worst gas price hikes in recent memory.
"When it does go up, our costs not only increase for delivery purposes, but also all the product that comes into us," said owner Mike Kusuda.
Still, he said they're taking a loss on that for now. "The way the economy is right now, we hate to raise any price."
For many drivers on the road, prices already mean a slight change in habits, even if it is only a few bucks per tank.
"That's what we all have to do in this down economy to be able to at least save a little bit of money," Valdez said.
