WEST VALLEY CITY - Will Cannon and Parker Rawlings combined to score 35 points as Olympus rallied from 11 down to defeat East in the 4A quarterfinals.
Olympus trailed by 5 points in the third when Will Cannon was fouled hard driving to the hoop. The foul and technical gave Cannon four attempts at line and he made three of them. Moments later he made a layup that tied the score.
The old region rivals battled back and forth for the rest of the game. East had three chances in the final minute to either take the lead or tie the game but East star Parker Van Dyke came up short on each attempt.
Van Dyke had a game-high 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists but he was held to just 7 of 26 shooting from the field. Arik Mawien also had a big game for the Leopards scoring 15 points on 6-8 shooting and pulling down 9 boards.
