RIVERTON — Police are still looking for the suspect responsible for the Cyprus Credit Union robber in Riverton. Although, caught on surveillance cameras, the suspect has not yet been identified by local authorities.
On Feb. 24 at 3:56 p.m., the Unified Police Department was called to the reported robbery. The suspect entered the credit union and approached the teller, demanding money and her car keys. The suspect threatened to harm everyone inside the credit union if the teller did not comply with his demands. However, no weapon was displayed.
The suspect then left the credit union with cash and the teller's car keys, and fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. Officers from UPD started searching the area and quickly found the victim's vehicle abandoned on a service road near Bangerter Highway.
Officers and K-9 units searched the area extensively along the Jordan River, but were unable to locate the suspect. There were no injuries to anyone in the credit union.
The suspect is a Caucasian male, about 5'9" with a thin build. He was wearing sunglasses, an orange bandana, a blue/gray/white hoodie, dark levis and black gloves. If anyone has any information regarding the suspect, please contact the UPD 801-743-7000.
