EPHRAIM - The Snow College football team had little trouble with conference rival Phoenix Saturday, winning 33-13.
The No. 1 ranked Badgers scored first with running back Soni Sotele hitting the end zone on a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Sotele scored two touchdowns and picked up 207 yards on 33 carries in the Snow victory. Sotele also picked up 63 yards through the air.
Running back Niu Takai also got into the end zone, racking up 104 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
Quarterback Houston Erbstoesser was 14-26 for 186 yards and a touchdown.
Snow went into halftime leading 23-0 following a 37-yard field goal.
The Badgers put up 10 more points and allowed and allowed two second-half touchdowns, to roll to the win at Badger Stadium in Ephraim.
"They put up a good fight," said head coach Steve Coburn of the Phoenix Bears. "We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we put together a good game, executed well and came away with the win."
The win moves Snow to 6-0 and 3-0 in the Western States Football League. The Badgers face No. 10 Glendale Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Badger Stadium in Ephraim.
