OGDEN — Emergency dispatchers receive all sorts of calls every day, but one late-night caller in Ogden was a stand-out.
The man recently made a late-night call to 911. His emergency? The Ogden Walmart store was closed, and that made him mad. Then he demanded a ride home.
"They're busy doing nothing, and if they could come meet me I would really, really appreciate that," he said.
The man grew increasingly angry, so dispatch eventually did send an officer.
"Yes, he got a ride," Ogden Police Lt. Tony Fox said, "it just wasn't to the destination that he was preferring."
The officer took the man to jail. Police said he has a history of abusing the 911 system.
