SOUTH SALT LAKE -- A UTA bus took an unanticipated detour this afternoon right through a fence in South Salt Lake.
The bus driver was trying to avoid a roofing truck that took a turn too wide. The truck the curb and then hit the bus. The bus then turned away to avoid the truck, and the maneuver sent it careening through a fence and into a junkyard.
No passengers were on board at the time. The bus driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to have them checked out.
The driver and passenger of the roofing truck were not hurt.
