Ty Johnson was a member of the 101st airborne division, serving in Kirkuk, Iraq.
Johnson's twin brother was among the family and friends who gathered to honor him. Johnson died a week ago. He was driving a commanding officer when a roadside bomb exploded. He leaves behind two kids and his wife.
Family and friends say Johnson will be remembered for his sense of adventure and for his smile.
Brother: "Lots of smiles. He always had this little, quirky smile on his face."

Before this explosion, Ty had reenlisted with the military for another six years.
