(KSL News) Salt Lake City officials have launched a major campaign cracking down on illegal drugs.
The Deseret Morning News reports Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson's and Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Burbank's "kNOw MORE" campaign will take a three-pronged approach:
- Education
- Enforcement
- Support and treatment
Officers will heavily target people buying and selling drugs, with a "zero tolerance" approach. They'll focus their efforts on Pioneer Park, an area of the city known for drugs and crime.
Anderson says focusing on Pioneer Park will help "dry up the demand for illegal substances."
