SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Salt Lake County official accused in the 2004 vehicle-abuse scandal has been sentenced.
Yesterday, Randy J. Allen pleaded guilty to using a county gas card to buy fuel in excess of his legitimate usage. He was charged with falsifying or alteration of a government record, a class B misdemeanor.
The judge ordered the county's former chief financial officer to serve 12 months of probation and pay 350 dollars in fines.
Allen resigned as C-F-O and has since taken a lower paying job as the county's fiscal manager for the division of planning and zoning.
