(KSL News) -- Panic led one man in West Valley to try outrunning the police. He got caught. And now, even though he wasn't the man officers were looking for, he's in trouble for running.
Last night, police thought they spotted a car belonging to an armed robbery suspect. They tried to pull it over, but the driver took off. He raced through several neighborhoods and even rammed his car into the patrol car. The man eventually bailed on foot.
Turns out he's not the armed robber.
If Coleman Pursifull would have stopped when officers first tried to pull him over, he would have only received a ticket for a traffic violation. Now he faces two felony and two misdemeanor charges.
Pursifull told police he was just trying to avoid getting a ticket.
