(KSL News) Carbon County authorities are cleaning up a big mess of scattered train cars tonight.
A Union Pacific spokesman says one of the company's trains, traveling west near Helper, derailed and spilled the coal it carried.
A different train, going the other way, hit the derailed cars. Between both trains, 18 cars went off the track.
No one was hurt, and nothing harmful was released. Investigators are trying to find out what caused the accident.
