CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) - A former Southern Utah University vice president who resigned after an arrest on solicitation charges has been rehired by the Cedar City school.
The Spectrum of St. George reports (http://bit.ly/rJVeZw) that Wesley R. Curtis has been named director of the university's regional services office. He'll oversee off-campus programs including, Rural Health, Head Start, the Business Resource Center and economic development partnerships.
Curtis resigned from SUU on Jan. 25 after he was arrested with seven other men by Cedar City police in a prostitution sting operation.
Now, 59, Curtis pleaded guilty in Iron County's Justice Court to one class B misdemeanor count of patronizing a prostitute and paid a fine.
In a statement, SUU President Michael T. Benson says he believes Curtis has made amends for his mistakes.
