LEHI -- Santa works hard to make sure every child gets the gift they asked for when they sat on his knee.
Which makes us wonder: With kid, after kid, after kid sitting on his knee, what does he do to survive the season? Does he have aches and pains like the rest of us?
"It's mostly the shoulders, it's the lifting the children up. My knees are ok," he said.
How does he handle the occasional crying baby? Does he ever get a headache from the noise?
"A headache? You know sometimes I get a headache from my glasses or my hat. But I never get a headache from the children. They never bother me that much," he said.
To get through those long hours of talking with his smallest, but biggest fans Santa has a go-to bag.
Bad breath won't be a problem for Santa this year, but figuring out the occasional odd request could be.
"Last night I had a kid ask me for an electric razor .and he was only about 8 years old."
When Christmas is over, and Santa does have some time to relax he has a plan ready for action. And it's not that different from what many of us want.
"Hot chocolate and cookies and whirlpool bath at the end of the season and I'll just soak for a week," he said.
Santa will be at the Shops at the Riverwoods in Orem until 9 p.m. tonight and then he has to hurry back to the North Pole for some last minute preparations.
