(KSL News) At least two men tried to beat up two police officers in the middle of the night.
Two West Valley City officers were patrolling a neighborhood near 4909 W. 4635 South when they noticed a couple of men acting suspiciously. The officers questioned the men and suspected the men were lying to them.
The men tried to run and when police stopped them, they hit and punched the officers.
The men ran into a nearby house and barricaded the door, but police broke in and scuffled again with the men.
Sgt. John Pearce, West Valley City Police Dept.: "One of the suspects, during the confrontation, tried to disarm the officer by pulling his gun out of his holster."
Officers tasered that suspect. It turns out he's wanted on sex charges.
The homeowner will face charges of obstruction, the other two assaulting officers and trying to run.
The two officers have minor cuts but will be okay. They arrested Brandon Yazzie, Terry Borland and Cody Wright.
