(KSL News) -- Along with other spring colors, Utah drivers will need to watch out for more orange on the road.

The Federal Highway Administation, Utah Department of Transportation and the Utah Highway Patrol announced National Work Zone Awareness Week today.

Highway officials are asking drivers to be more careful as they maneuver around construction zones.

Carlos Braceras, UDOT Deputy Director: "When you're concentrating on doing your job, you have to always keep in mind, there's traffic moving 50 miles an hour a couple feet from where you're working."

According to government statistics, four out of five people who die in work zones are drivers and passengers, not workers. Officials urge drivers to slow down, follow the signs and be alert.
