Randall Jeppesen ReportingOrem Police officers use a taser to stop a woman they say was holding two people at knife point. Investigators say the suspect arrived at a house and entered through an unlocked door.
Officers say the woman was apparently looking for someone she thought stole her money, but she instead found a different man and woman. They say that's when the suspect pulled out two large knives.
"She had one sheath strapped to her hip. Another other was strapped to her bra," Lt. Doug Edwards says.
Edwards says the woman held the knives to the two victims' throats, even slightly cutting the woman's throat. He says officers then demanded she put down the knives.
"She didn't. In fact, she stepped toward the man. That's when one of the officers used a taser," Edwards says.
Authorities say the suspect, Pamela Consuelo Nelson of Provo, has been booked into the Utah County Jail charged with robbery, burglary and assault. Investigators say they are not aware of any criminal history.
