Jed Boal ReportingOne Utah family holds a prestigious position in the Utah National Guard. Many families make their mark with the Utah Army National Guard, but few show the dedication and sacrifice of the Taylor family of South Ogden.

Devin Taylor will remember this day for years. The 18-year-old met Governor Jon Huntsman, and joined three brothers to become the fourth son of the Taylor family to enlist in the Utah National Guard.

Fourth Brother Joins Utah National Guard

Devin Taylor enlisted in the 1457th Engineer Battalion. Bryan also serves with the 1457th. Brent is with the 141st Military Intelligence Battalion. And Matt Taylor is a Guardsman with the 115th Engineers.

Devin Taylor, Utah National Guard: "I'm excited to start. I want to get to basic and start my training."

Family influence certainly drove Devin Taylor to join the Guard, but he also has a strong desire help with the war effort.

Devin Taylor, Utah National Guard: "I've always appreciated living in America, and this is one of the few ways I can give back and help out my country."

The young guardsman says he does not fear the dangers of military service.

Devin Taylor: "I wanted to help out America any way I can. If I can get deployed, some guy can go home to his wife and kids."

Taylor heads to Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri to train.

The Taylors told the Governor they have another brother. He lives in Arizona and is contemplating joining the Arizona National Guard.
