CLEARFIELD — Students at Clearfield High School will host a community carnival Saturday that will benefit the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.

The school has been working to collect $10,000 for cancer research through various activities this month. Games, prizes, and food will be available Saturday, Dec. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clearfield High field house. Also on hand will be Santa Claus and a professional photographer, according to a press release.

The students decided on the Cancer Foundation as its charity of choice since at least 18 people at the school including faculty, administration and students have been affected by cancer.

“I am excited to see so many students getting involved in something that impacts us all. It was touching to see the stories that the faculty and students shared about how cancer has impacted them,” said student body officer Jenna Hunsaker.

The students will present a check to the foundation on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 8:30 p.m. Those interested in donating can attend Saturday's carnival or contact Jenna Hunsaker, at 801-675-6994 or Student Body Adviser LeNina Wimmer at 801-941-0409.
