(KSL News) An Idaho man accused of causing a catastrophe on Highway Six in Spanish Fork Canyon failed to resolve his case. That means Travis Stewart will go to trial.
The two-week limit Stewart was given to accept a plea deal has passed.
Stewart was traveling on Highway Six last summer, carrying 36-thousand pounds of explosives, when he came around a sharp curve. The truck jack-knifed, skidded and blew up, leaving a 70-foot wide hold in the road. At least ten people were injured.
Stewart is charged with causing a catastrophe, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
