Tom Callan, KSL Newsradio It happened again today: A pedestrian trying to cross a street was struck by a vehicle.

A 15-year-old female who attends Taylorsville High School stepped out into the street at 6200 South and 1850 West and was hit by a truck.

"When we arrived she was not breathing, but she left here in serious condition, breathing, and [was] airlifted to University of Utah Hospital," explained Wayne Dial, assistant police chief for Taylorsville Police Department.

Dial says it is too soon to tell if sun blurred the driver's vision. "This is a heavily traveled area this time of day, a lot of traffic," he said.

This is the third time this week that a pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle in the Salt Lake area.
