(KSL News) Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon supports a proposition to rename the Salt Palace Convention Center after the late Gov. Calvin Rampton.
Critics have said the move would hurt the Salt Palace's brand. They have suggested naming a ballroom inside the center after Rampton or another building.
Corroon says the change would only be appropriate for Gov. Rampton since he "put the state on the map" for tourism.
