(KSL News) Sen. Orrin Hatch says those who voted against giving Utah a fourth seat in the House of Representatives will find themselves on the wrong side of history.
Many objected to the bill because it also gave the District of Columbia its first congressional seat, even though it is not a state.
However, Hatch says in doing so they ignored a constitutional provision that allows Congress to grant one anyway.
Hatch also called the vote a "grave disservice" to Utah.
