(KSL News) Efforts are underway to honor former Gov. Calvin Rampton who died Sunday night.
Democrats want to rename the Salt Palace Convention Center after Rampton.
Republicans say Rampton is worthy of the honor but changing the name could hurt the center's marketing momentum. They suggest naming a ballroom inside the Salt Palace for Rampton instead.
Before any name change could be made it would have to be approved by the Salt Lake County Council.
