(KSL News) Salt Lake Police are also investigating their own armed robbery this morning.

Just after midnight two suspects, described at teenagers 16 or 17 years old, entered a 7-11 store. They waited until the clerk addressed them at the counter.

Lt. Dave Cracroft/ Salt Lake City Police Dept. :"Then they pulled a black handgun... racked the slide, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk immediately turned to lock himself in the office."

The clerk says he then heard a click, like the trigger had been pulled but the gun malfunctioned. At that point the two suspects ran off.

Police called in police dogs, but did not find anyone or anything.
