(KSL News) -- The Labor Department fined a Utah contractor more than 10-thousand dollars for violating child labor laws.
The Labor department says children ages 12, 13 and 15 were seen on a roof, one operating a table saw. Working on a roof and using a saw are considered hazardous occupations for minors.
The company, which is in Hildale, filed an objection.
Hildale is home to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but officials don't know yet if the contracting company is affiliated with the church.
