SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested one man for investigation of lewdness Sunday and are asking for the public's help to find another man wanted in a separate lewdness investigation.

On Sunday, a woman walking to church with her two children in the area of 200 E. South Temple saw a man exposing himself, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report. A second person also reported seeing the man.

Officers responded and arrested Daniel Allgood, 29, for investigation of lewdness and lewdness involving a child.

Allgood is listed on the Utah State Sex Offender Registry for a conviction in 2000 of sex abuse of a child, a second-degree felony.

In February, Allgood pleaded guilty in Ogden Justice Court to misdemeanor lewdness. In exchange for his plea, a second count of lewdness was dismissed. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail with credit for time served.

In 2010, he pleaded guilty in 3rd District Court to an amended charge of a registered sex offender attempting lewdness, a third-degree felony. He was sentenced to a year in jail with credit for time served. Also in 2010, Allgood pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of failing to register as a sex offender, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 60 days in jail.

Police are looking for this man, caught by surveillance cameras, who they say exposed himself at the Cigarette Outlet in Salt Lake City.

In 2008 and 2009, Allgood had several misdemeanor drug- and alcohol-related convictions, as well as impersonating an officer, according to court records. In 2006, he was arrested for investigation of being a fugitive from justice in another state.

In a separate incident, police Monday asked for the public's help to find a man who approached a clerk at a local smoke shop while exposing himself. On Sept. 28, a man walked into the Cigarette Outlet to make a purchase. All the while, his genitals were exposed, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

The man has been back to the store at least once since the incident, which was caught on the store's surveillance cameras, but the clerk was unable to get a good vehicle description. He is described as a white male in his late 50s or early 60s, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a grey receding hairline and a grey beard.
