ROY -- Police have increased their presence at Roy High School today after threatening messages were found in a school bathroom.

Students are attending class as normal although threatening notes scribbled in black felt pen were found on the wall in two girls' bathrooms around 11 a.m. Thursday. Students were told to stay in class and teachers were instructed to lock the doors as police investigated the graffiti. According to students, the lockdown lasted about 10 minutes.

The Standard Examiner reports the notes included phrases such as "watch out," "you might be next," and one student even told the paper one portion of the graffiti said, "Somebody's going to die 11-11-11."

A school district spokesperson says the school has surveillance video in the halls and police want to talk to the students who went into the bathrooms around the time the messages appeared.

This isn't the first time the Weber School District has experienced this. In September threatening messages appeared at Roy Jr. High School. The person responsible was not found.

School officials think the graffiti is not a serious threat but are on heightened alert as a precaution.
