(KSL News) An attorney in a child abuse case say doctors are destroying the evidence. Those doctors are performing reconstructive hand surgery on a toddler.
Her mother, Jennifer George, is charged with putting the girl's hand in boiling water last April. George's lawyer says the injury is frostbite.
He says the defense's expert witness could not examine the child before she received the reconstructive surgery. Prosecutors argue the request for the exam came too late, and there are plenty of pictures of the child's hand.
The toddler has since been adopted by another family.
