Marc Giauque, KSL Newsradio Searchers at Jordanelle Reservoir are encountering difficult conditions as they look for a man believed to have drowned while trying to swim to his boat.
A helicopter looked from the air. In the water, sonar from Wasatch County and an ROV from Summit County searched the lake bottom at Rock Cliff for Brian Vance.
Lyle Vance, Brian's father-in-law, says Brian got up to Jordanelle every chance he could. "He loved it right here, just about right here," he said.
Park Manager Lyle Gingrey says there's evidence Brian Vance's boat floated away while he was launching it. "I think he tried, and the boat probably just kept getting farther and farther away, and he got tired," he said.

Gingrey says search conditions have been very difficult, and even sonar is having a difficult time seeing around dead trees and shrubs at the lake's bottom.
