(KSL News) A new law will guarantee Utahans a rebate on their natural gas bills.
Governor Huntsman signed House Bill 309 into law today. It returns millions of dollars from city and town taxes on natural gas to customers.
Rep. Greg Hughes/(R) Draper: "Between 10 and 15 million dollars is going to be returned in the month of December '06 to rate payers. Questar will handle that rebate and it will come as a credit on your gas bill."
State lawmakers, consumer advocates and city leaders worked together to create the legislation. They say cities had extra money in their budgets because of rate increases from utility companies.
