SALT LAKE CITY — A store receipt led police to a man who now stands charged with robbing a West Jordan credit union.

Federal prosecutors Monday filed a criminal complaint against James Brent Milligan, 52, in connection with a robbery Saturday at Cypress Credit Union, 1381 W. 9000 South. Milligan approached the teller, displayed a gun in his waistband and demanded money be placed in a burlap bag, according to the complaint.

Police found the bag in the credit union parking lot containing cash stained with red dye. They also found a pawn shop receipt with Milligan's name on it, according to the complaint. Officers arrested Milligan at his home in Midvale.

West Jordan police say Milligan is being investigated in connection with robberies, at Wells Fargo, 2640 W. 9000 South, on Oct. 1, and University of Utah Credit Union, 8952 S. Redwood Road, on Sept. 7.

Authorities say they found evidence of the robberies along with pipe bombs at Milligan's home.
