(KSL News) -- A car struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday night in Salt Lake City.
A woman was crossing North Temple near 1800 West when the car hit her. Police say the driver didn't see the woman until it was too late.
Lt. Robert Linton/Salt Lake Police Dept.: "He stated he was in the inside lane, and he said all of a sudden she just appeared, and there was nothing he could do."
Police say the woman wasn't in a crosswalk when she was hit.
Emergency teams tried to revive her but she died at the scene.
