(KSL News) -- A man was shot while on his way to the grocery store this morning.
Deputies say the victim was shot as he left his home to get in his car near 4200 S. 1300 East.
Witnesses say the shooter walked up to the man and shot him in the side without saying a word.
At first it appeared random, but investigators say after interviewing witnesses they believe the two people knew each other.
The victim is in the hospital in serious but stable condition.
The shooter got away. He was last seen running to a car.
